Description

A soothing, aromatic tea made with simple ingredients. This caffeine-free beverage is perfect for warming up on cold days or unwinding before bed.


Ingredients

  • 1 cinnamon stick (preferably Ceylon, about 3 inches)
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • Optional: Honey or maple syrup to taste
  • Optional: Splash of milk or cream

Instructions

  1. Combine the water and cinnamon stick in a small saucepan and cover with a lid to trap moisture.
  2. Bring the mixture to a strong simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer gently for 12 minutes.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and allow the tea to steep for another 10 to 15 minutes to deepen the flavor.
  4. Pour the tea through a mesh strainer into a mug and add sweetener or milk if desired.

Notes

Using Ceylon cinnamon is recommended for the best flavor and safety if drinking regularly. For a stronger flavor, use two sticks.
