- 1 cinnamon stick (preferably Ceylon, about 3 inches)
- 1 cup filtered water
- Optional: Honey or maple syrup to taste
- Optional: Splash of milk or cream
Instructions
- Combine the water and cinnamon stick in a small saucepan and cover with a lid to trap moisture.
- Bring the mixture to a strong simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer gently for 12 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the heat and allow the tea to steep for another 10 to 15 minutes to deepen the flavor.
- Pour the tea through a mesh strainer into a mug and add sweetener or milk if desired.
Notes
Using Ceylon cinnamon is recommended for the best flavor and safety if drinking regularly. For a stronger flavor, use two sticks.
